HOW YOUR ILWAAD BRIDAL ORDER WORKS
Your bridal look is one of the most important parts of your wedding, so we want the process to be smooth from the moment you order until your ILWAAD arrives.
Here is what to expect.
1. Choose Your Bridal Look
Select your Bridal Dirac and carefully review the product page.
Each design will show its estimated production timeframe and the options available, including whether your order can be purchased Tailored / Tolan (Sewn) or Untailored / La Tolin (Not Sewn).
Our typical production timeframes are:
Ready-to-Wed Bridal Edit
Approximately 2–4 weeks
Signature Bridal Wear
Approximately 4-8 weeks
Custom Orders & Pre-Orders
Approximately 10-14 weeks
The timeframe shown on the individual product page when you place your order will apply to your purchase.
These timeframes refer to production before dispatch. Delivery time is additional.
2. Tell Us Your Wedding Date
If your wedding falls within or very close to the maximum production timeframe shown on the product page, please contact us before ordering.
You will be asked to provide your wedding or event date when ordering.
This helps our team identify any timing concerns.

Please remember that providing your wedding date does not automatically guarantee delivery by that date.
A delivery date is only guaranteed where ILWAAD has expressly confirmed it to you in writing.
3. Complete Your Order
Production normally begins once:
- your order has been accepted;
- payment has been successfully received; and
- we have received everything required to begin your order.
Depending on your order, we may require:
- measurements
- colour confirmation
- tailoring selections
- customisation details
If we are waiting for information from you, this may delay the start or completion of your order.
4. Tailored or Untailored?
Tailored / Tolan
Our tailoring team will sew the selected garment for you.
Depending on your bridal set, this may include your:
- Dirac
- fitted slip dress (Af Somali: Cambuur/Toob)
- Traditional underskirt (Af Somali: Gorgorad)
- Shaash dress
- Hido iyo Dhaqan dress
Where measurements are required, your garment will be prepared using the measurements supplied and accepted for your order.
Untailored / La Tolin
Your Dirac will arrive as fabric pieces not sewn and for you to take to your own tailor.
Depending on the design, your set may include:
- main Dirac fabric
- slip dress or Gorgorad fabric;
- matching Bridal veil (Af Somali: Garbasaar / Shalmad)
- additional matching material where stated on the product page.
If you select Untailored / La Tolin, tailoring after delivery is arranged by you.
5. Your Order Goes Into Production
Once everything required has been received, your bridal order enters production.
Because many ILWAAD bridal pieces involve specialist production, embellishment and handmade finishing, your order may pass through several stages before completion.
Please use the production timeframe shown on the product page as your guide.
We strongly recommend allowing additional time before your wedding for:
- delivery
- trying on your bridal look
- alterations
- any adjustments you may wish to make locally.
6. Your Order Is Dispatched
Once your order has been completed, it will be prepared for dispatch.
Where tracking is available, your tracking details will be sent once your parcel has left us.
Our usual estimated courier transit times after dispatch are:
United Kingdom: 1–3 working days
Europe: 3–5 working days
North America: 3–7 working days
Australia & New Zealand: 5–14 working days
Africa: 7-14 working days
Middle East & Asia: 5-14 working days
Courier delivery times are estimates and are separate from the production timeframe.
7. Your ILWAAD Arrives 🤍
Once your bridal order arrives, we recommend checking your complete order promptly.
If you believe anything is incorrect or there is an issue with your order, please contact:
Include your:
- full name;
- order number;
- description of the issue; and
- clear photographs or video where appropriate.
Our team will then assist you.
Ordering Close to Your Wedding?
Please do not leave your order until the last minute.
If your wedding is close to the maximum production timeframe shown for your chosen design, contact us before purchasing.
Where our production capacity allows, we may offer a Priority Production Service for selected bridal orders for an additional charge.
Priority availability must always be confirmed by ILWAAD before purchasing.
We want every bride to enjoy her ILWAAD experience. Giving yourself enough time for production, delivery and final fittings is the best way to make your bridal journey as relaxed as possible.
